News, if you're interested-
otherwise, it's just trivia.
If you’ve clicked into Drovers Gap, I’m assuming you have at least a mild and passing interest in what I’m up to these days. I’ll keep it brief-
We have emerged from back-to-back winter storms, one of ice and another of snow. Three days after the snow, I had our drive cleared down the hill to the street and we (sort of) rejoined the outer world.
Our new Bosch heat pump kept us snug through single digit cold. Fortunately, we never lost electricity, but thanks to the generosity of our neighbor from down east, had a generator standing by, just in case. This old house also has fireplaces should we need them.
I’ll be preaching to the good folk at Church of the Transfiguration in our town on the third Sunday in Lent (March 8) It will be live-streamed on Youtube. The text will be from John 4.
If you are not getting enough garden talk, there will be more of it here toward spring. There will be seasonal Story Garden updates on my website, as well.
My poetry collection, Upslope, is still making the rounds, in search of a publisher. You’ll know when I do.
I pray y’all have found good traction on your winter way. All of us in this country are traversing a wild season. Stay safe. Look after your neighbor.
Walk in hope-

So glad ya'll are safely and seems relatively comfortably handling the multiple onslaughts of winter there! But be wary for, as you well know, winter in those mountains is not over till it's over! We have endured one ice storm so far that shut things down for a day and didn't suffer any significant utilities/power grid outages. But we are woefully deficit in water from the sky last year and continuing the same pattern this year...tis concerning! Be well and good luck with the poetry collection finding a publisher!
