Downstairs
at Nostalgia court (cont'd.)
Second Day: After a couple days rain (we needed some), back down to Nostalgia Court to fill out the mini-grove at Feldenkrais Saluda. The essentials are all in place now. On the left is Susan’s cypress liberated from the Gardener’s Cottage upstairs. Front and Center is a Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Sparkling Arrow' Variegated Weeping Alaskan Cedar brought down the hill from the Story Garden. Behind it is Juniperus horizontalis 'Copper Harbor' Creeping Juniper and in the large pot to right, Thuja plicata 'Whipcord' Dwarf Western Red Cedar. Visible just behind it is Pinus bungeana 'Silver Ghost' Lacebark Pine.
The grass left of the pots is the landlord’s planting, needs to be cut back before new shoots appear. Looking forward to watching this group green up and fill in over spring and summer. On the lookout for an appropriate stone/object to complete the setting. All of these plants, with the exception of the cypress, came from our friends Matt and Tim at Mr. Maple.
Right of the door there is a planting area that hosted some beautiful hibiscus last year (above). Waiting to see what has survived the winter before tackling that one.
Walk in hope-
