the rain...
After three weeks of dry, on the last Saturday of April the rains finally came, not all we wanted but all of it was needed. It began in the afternoon and continued into the evening, slow and steady. There were no rivulets or puddles. The thirsty soil soaked it all up where it fell. The next morning as churchbells rang, the garden glowed greenly grateful.
